Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias

Whooooo---eeeee! We rolled into Oakhurst early Wednesday afternoon, and Joy immediately sent us on our way to the Sequoia grove in Yosemite. It was amazing! Some of these trees are 3,000 years old! Absolutely incredible.

On the Road to Oakhurst

Oakhurst bound! On the way to visit Gus and Joy (and Yosemite National Park), we found some elephant seals along the way. The scenery was just incredible!

Wiggin' Out at Big Sur

After a long, 7 hour day driving (er...riding, in my case) we pulled into Big Sur, and the amazing Kirk Creek Campground...and of course the wigs had to come out to play. It was COLD out, I tell you! We needed them for warmth. I'm pretty sure we scared the shit out of our neighbors at the next campsite. Mission accomplished!

Big Sur (Part II)

This was our campsite! Kirk Creek Campground, baby. UNBELIEVABLE. The Pacific Ocean right outside our tent!

Big Sur (Part I)

EPIC.
BREATHTAKING.
GRANDIOSE.
BEAUTIFUL.

Monterey

On our way to Big Sur, we stopped in Monterey for some grub and bloody marys. Fisherman's Wharf was a smashing success--funny to think how I was just there, three years ago with my mother, Uncle JB, and Uncle Joe. Not much has changed! However, I must say that I had THE best clam chowder I have ever had in my life whilst trolling the wharf...and my chowder standards are high. I would go back there in a heartbeat!

In & Out

Denny, Mel, and Boner have learned the way of the In & Out. (PS, JZ, it rocked their world). We have stopped by the ol' burger joint TWICE in the past 48 hours. Double double...animal style!
